This was announced during the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) press conference held at the CDC’s office on Tuesday June 21, 2011.

CEO of the CDC Ashford Wood, giving the remarks, stated that the bridge will be accessible.

“For all Carnival shows, pedestrians are free to use the bridge,” Wood stated. He, however, added that only pedestrians will be able to use the bridge. Vehicles will not be allowed to cross the bridge, but persons may park their vehicles at the Anglican Car Park nearby, Wood explained.

Describing the route that music trucks will take during Mas events, Hugh Raguette of the Carnival Bands Association stated that along with assistance from the traffic branch of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force, trucks will take the road leading to the Leeward highway turning right into Stoney Ground and turning into North River Road, meeting masqueraders outside the Charles Verbeke Centre.
