Competiting under the stage name, âLady Diamondâ, Frank surpassed eleven other competitors to take the top spot.
Her song, âAnother Independence, thatâs a higher stage,â Javelle said, encourages Vincentians to use the time of independence to celebrate together, setting aside differences to truly appreciate each other and their country.
Frank, who began singing calypso two years ago for the North and South Leeward calypso tents, and the On Tour tent, said that she did not expect to win. She was confident, having received much support. She, however admitted that she was a bit nervous, as she was competing against calypso veterans.
The purpose of the competition was to create an opportunity for persons to show their creativity, by performing original songs, with a positive independence message. (OS)
