The feisty second year student of the Division of Arts, Science and General Studies of the Community College also copped the Miss Photogenic, best swimwear, best talent, best evening wear and interview segments.

Franklyn is no stranger to the limelight. She is a former Miss Chateaubelair Methodist School (CMS) Miss Petit Bordel Secondary School (PBSS) and Miss SVG Teen Model, as well as a regular on catwalks throughout SVG, having started a modeling career over four years ago. Franklyn told SEARCHLIGHT that she is not too surprised that she won as she had been preparing for years for this moment. “You see this takes me a step closer to Miss SVG and the scholarship”, the young beauty said.

Franklyn represented Golden Grove, while Nicole Samuel, Jolicia Hipolyte, Ishanda Jacobs and Vekesh Charles represented Chateaubelair, Rose Bank, Tromauca and Spring Village, respectively. Miss Troumaca copped the Miss Congeniality and Miss Community spirit awards and was also the second runner-up, while Miss Spring Village was awarded First runner-up.

“I want to be a role model to teens in my community and help them to develop their self esteem through culture, entertainment and academics,” the former Petit Bordel Secondary School Student of the Year said.

She credits her family for her success, especially her mother Lillian, who has been supportive in all her endeavors. “I would like to say a special thank you to Ancia Lavia for all her hard work and to Veronique Williams, Miss SVG 2009, for showing us that rural girls can shatter the glass ceiling. She is a true icon for all of us and last but not least, my father Terrance Small who is the rock of our family,” Franklyn said.
