Held under the theme “Declare God’s Praise in all the Islands”, the event brought together teachers, students parents and officials of the Ministry of Culture and the gospel fest committee.

Speaking at the event, headteacher Hyacinth Harry noted that the school is determined to develop holistic individuals who are well rounded academically, culturally as well as spiritually.

The festival, Harry said, emerged from the school’s Easter Choir Festival. Harry called on all parents to assist the school with each child’s development, encouraging them to take part in the schools activities.

Also speaking at the event, Minister of Culture, René Baptiste, urged the teachers and parents present to give the children the opportunity to grow and to blossom.

The packed programme included poems, songs and instrumentals. The infant and junior choirs sang ‘Speak to me Lord Jesus” and “Songs of Praise”, respectively. The kindergarten class also performed a dance.

The star of the morning was undoubtedly Jewel Fraser who received a standing ovation for her rendition of the song “Lord you are Holy”

Instrumentals included Nigel Maloney on Keyboard and Dwayne Andrews on Violin. Guest Artist, Kim Arthur, also performed at the event.(OS)
