DJ Spoon scoops out Green Synergy win

DJ Spoon won the second leg of the Heineken Green Synergy DJ Clash held at the Rabacca Dry River on Sunday night.{{more}}

Playing in front a large enthusiastic crowd, the six DJ’s that entered the competition didn’t disappoint as they showcased their talent and skills. This made the judges’ task somewhat difficult. However, DJ Badge and DJ Spoon were given the nod over the other four opponents to enter the second round.

In a face-off that had most of the capacity crowd in a frenzy and the judges’ scorecards showing a dead heat, there could only be one winner, hence DJ Spoon narrowly defeated DJ Badge.

Talking about the competition, DJ Spoon, also known as Junior Hazel, a 19-year-old resident of Park Hill said: “I was pleased to have this opportunity on the biggest stage in all DJ competitions in SVG to showcase my talent and skills, and the competition proved to be a wonderful and positive experience for every up and coming DJ”.

“I am now going to practice on my scratching, music selection and, of course, get some insights from other DJs which will be required to take me all the way,” he added.

DJ Spoon now joins DJ Neppy and waits for a further four opponents who will vie for EC$5000 and the privilege of representing St.Vincent and the Grenadines at the grand finale in St.Maarten, and the opportunity to walk away with USD$10,000.

Heineken beer is the World’s largest export beer and is marketed by St.Vincent Brewery Limited, Campden Park.
