In Antigua, the group took part in the annual ‘Expressions’ show organized by the Antiguan Youth For Christ. This show featured two nights of dance from August 7th to 8th and displayed various presentations from countries across the region. For the fourth time, St. Vincent and the Grenadines was represented by the Diadem Dancers. With leadership and choreography by Jemelia Pope, the group performed six pieces for which they received encores.

As a result of their outstanding performances over the years, invitations opened up in the United States of America which they accepted this year. The group spent a week in Orlando (August 9th-16th) and journeyed to Miami from the 16th-19th of August. Manager Shirlene Pope reviews the group’s performance as being simply “awesome”.

Diadem Dancers is nine years old and is based at Faith Temple in New Montrose. Their recent awards include the “Most Outstanding Popular Dance Group” at the 2008 KCCU Dance Festival.

Diadem Dancers looks forward to performing not only around the world, but more so for the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
