18 calypsonians to turn out for Graduates Calypso tent for 2009

Eighteen calypsonians will take the stage next week at the Victoria Park, as the Graduates Calypso Tent kicks off their 2009 Carnival season.{{more}}

The launch, which was scheduled to take place on May 23rd, will now be held on Tuesday, May 26th.

The tent this year is led by former calypso monarch Glenroy ‘Sulle’ Caesar, and consists Nubian Princess, Black Messenger, Tajoe, Genie, Blakie, De Foe, Gumsy, Wassy, Sweet Sixteen, Nzimbu, Bump-I, Tump-I, Bunny Rebel, Johnny-P, Dready and Ranking Mandy.

The tent is being managed this year by David Latchman, with Public Relations Officer Alexis ‘Lexy’ Joseph and Aubrey ‘Ras Boo’ Burgin the Treasurer. The band Akcess will back the calypsonians.
