As the Digicel Gospel Fest held their first night of a two-night showcase, over 32 persons performed songs, dances, sermonettes, choral speeches and instrumentals.

The “Exalt Him” worship team set the tone of the show with an array of melodious songs that had many gyrating.

When the duo of Bevaline Taylor and Anita Jeffers from the Vermont Miracle Tabernacle took the stage with their Duet Dance, they wooed the crowd with their scintillating dance steps.

Guest artiste from the United States, Stephen Reeves, from the very outset gave the crowd a thrilling performance, belting out some of his hit tunes, while strumming his guitar.

Addressing the showcase, Minister of Culture Rene Baptiste said that she was quite pleased to see the number of young men taking part in the festival and showing that they are true soldiers of Christ. “I want to congratulate the young men for being so involved in this year’s festival,” Baptiste said.

Minister Baptiste also stated that the Ministry is working to enhance the delivery, performance and participation in the various aspects of the Gospel Fest.

She noted that an expert in sound and lighting technology from Cuba will be here for four weeks to work with persons and provide hands on training in that field. Baptiste encouraged persons to take full grasp of the opportunity so they can be better equipped to deliver quality.

This year’s Gospel Fest was celebrated under theme: “Get your praise on”.(KW)
