Miss Unity Youth show comes off tomorrow


The Miss Unity Youth pageant will come off tomorrow March 14 at the Aquatic Club.

The show is organized by the Unity Labour Party’s National Youth Arm Executive and supported by the ULP, Star FM and various sponsors.{{more}}

The ten contestants are: Lindie Billingy- Miss S G De Freitas; Stacy Kelly- Miss Caribbean Glass; Zunelle Browne- Miss Murray Heigth’s Hotel; Isabelle Clouden- Miss Ferdies Footsteps; Asheka Shallow- Miss Caribbean Sheets & Tubular; Shanel Nanton- Miss Aquatic Club; Sherika Gordon- Miss Heron Hotel; Latoya Lewis- Miss Phillips Bakery; Sabrina Lewis- Miss Browne’s Hardware; Osnel Antoine- Miss Franco Construction.

There will be guest appearances by the Avenue Dancers and Miss Bold & Beautiful 2004. The featured artiste is Bomani. DJ Kano from West Side Connection is the sole act for the after party which promises to be very entertaining.

According to Lisa Joseph, organizer of the pageant, the young ladies were in training since December 2007 and have been anxiously awaiting the show.

“The purpose of this pageant is to keep the Youths of the Unity Labour Party together and united through progression and entertainment,” a release from Joseph said.

“The ULP is strong and we the youths are the future of our party. And through this medium among upcoming events, we endeavour to keep our youths educated, entertained and fully informed of what the ULP has done, is doing and will continue to do for the betterment of the youths of our country,” the release stated.

The Youth Arm plans to make the show an annual event.
