Guyana Fashion Week ready to blast off

Sonia Noel, CEO of Guyana Fashion Weekend, has informed that the annual event is ready to explode for the second time in Guyana.
The prestigious fashion event was staged at the end of last summer at Buddyâs International Hotel and attracted over eight hundred (800) patrons each night.{{more}}
For the second showing, the Guyana Fashion Weekend team is pleased to invite designers from throughout the Caribbean to be a part of the prestigious event. The two night runway shows will be held as part of the Carifesta Programme in Guyana on August 29th and 30th, 2008.
The 2007 event saw local Guyanese Press, Regional Magazine and a full cadre of international press attending the event. Designers at the inaugural event all expressed pleasure at the publicity and new business they received after their participation.
The bar will be raised in 2008. Designers will have the opportunity to undergo more training prior to preparing their collections, and a greater scope of designers from the Latin American and French Caribbean Regions will be invited to showcase their collections. Regional buyers will be invited and patrons can expect models to be in fine form when they take that strut on the catwalk.
