Vanesha Baptiste is Miss Garifuna Queen 2007

Vanesha Baptiste, Miss Owia Salt Pond has been crowned Miss Garifuna Queen 2007.

Baptiste, who was sponsored by Ferdie’s Footsteps Bar, won from a field of five other contestants in the Queen show which was held on Friday March 30th as part of the annual Joncanu festival organized by the Chatoyer Youth Movement.{{more}}

Tabisha Brackin, Miss Chateau sponsored by La Casa Chiquita Grocery and Bar, Denisha Lavia, Miss Bloody Bridge sponsored by Clarke’s Construction, Ria Roberts Miss Duvalier sponsored by Interactive Media Limited (Searchlight Newspaper), Ronisha Yorke Miss Falls of Baleine sponsored by Russian Rentals, Kimesha Hoyte, Miss La Soufriere sponsored by the Modern Place, Vanesha Baptiste, Miss Owia Salt Pond sponsored by Ferdie’s Footsteps were judged in various categories including swimwear, talent, eveningwear and interview.

Guest artistes were Top Secret Dancers from Sandy Bay and the featured artiste Skarpyan who rocked the crowd.

At the end of the show, Ronisha Yorke was adjudged Miss Congeniality, Ria Roberts, Miss Photogenic, Ronisha Yorke, Best Talent, Vanesha Baptiste, Best Evening Gown and Best Interview went to Kimesha Hoyte.

First runner up was Kimesha Hoyte and Second runner up was Ria Roberts.
