Papa Das sets Gospel Fest on fire

It was as if the Almighty poured showers of blessings on the Digicel Gospel Fest last Sunday. The show, which featured a spectacular performance from former Soca entertainer, now Gospel artist Anthony “Papa Das” Glasgow gave the screaming audience hit after hit as he praised God through Soca gospel music.{{more}}

Also giving a heart stirring performance in the pouring rain was the first ever Digicel Rising Star Kiokya Cruickshank. The 20-year old shared that it was a challenge being a young Christian but advised young people to serve Jesus Christ while they were in their youth.

Performances for the launch dubbed, “Evening of Dance” were given by dance groups from the Anglican Youth Group, Kingdom Life Tabernacle, Chateaubelair Methodist, Mt Olivett Spiritual Baptist, Salvation Army Praisers, Streams of Power Ecclesia and the Sandy Bay Gospel Chapel among others.

The festival continues in the eight different zones in music, song, dance and drama. The Schools Gospel Fest comes off on April 27 from 2pm at Victoria Park while on April 28th and 29th, the National Gospel Showcase climaxes at the same venue with performances from Wendy Mitchell from the USA, and Junior Tucker from Jamaica among others.
