BET J showcases beauty of SVG

The unspoiled beauty, cultural diversity and warmth of the people of the “Jewels of the Caribbean” will soon be on display to international audiences on BET J television.

Announcing the new partnership, Cybelle Brown, Vice President of Sales and Marketing with BET Digital Networks, described her company’s first marketing deal with St Vincent and the Grenadines to increase the destination’s profile in the regional and international marketplace.{{more}}

“Our team has creatively developed a solid regional and international media plan for St Vincent and the Grenadines,” said Brown, who added that by leveraging industry relationships BET Digital Networks will deliver “bang for bucks” in a smart partnership with the destination.

In addition to a thorough marketing campaign, Brown revealed that BET J will develop a 30 minute preview show promoting next year’s Blues and Rhythm Festival to be held March 9 to 10, 2007. “Using a Caribbean-based production team, we have already visited St. Vincent to shoot the show and are pleased with the progress we are making,” said Brown, who is herself from the neighboring Caribbean island of St. Lucia.

The Blues and Rhythm Festival preview show will rotate on BET J’s “Island Lime” format on Saturdays along with a 30 second commercial, and a multi-media campaign which will be launched in the Caribbean and on the network. “Our team has developed a cost-effective and penetrating media buy for St. Vincent which should deliver measurable results,” said Brown.

According to Glen Beache, Minister of Tourism, Youth and Sports, “our multi island state caters to a variety of tastes with its rich blend of vegetation, culture, festivals, cuisine, and numerous sites of interest – both scenic and historic. It is not surprising therefore, that it was again the scene of the filming of Disney’s blockbuster movie “Pirates of the Caribbean,” Sequels 2 and 3.”
