Mijé showcases Carnival Catwalk

Three cheers for the Mijé Modeling Agency’s production of Carnival Catwalk which was held at the Cruise Ship Terminal on Sunday July 2.

The event, which was co-ordinated by founder, Jean Johnney-Findlay, flowed effortlessly from one segment into the other as the beautiful models strutted the catwalk with grace and professionalism.{{more}}

The highlight of the show was however, the spectacular garments produced by the designers who captivated the patrons with their creativity.

The photography skills of Michael Ollivierre who captured on T-shirts

places of interest across the country were a hit, as well as the sexy and dynamic crochet pieces of Lucy Miller.

Definitely hot and crazy were Venna DeBique’s crochet swimwear as well the fashion of veteran seamstress Pamela Findlay who unleashed her maximum talent for designing with pieces ranging from African to swimwear to glamorous gowns.

Eniye Kagabala was phenomenal with her Bohemian chic look that flashed back at clothing which is becoming fashionable with many super stars.

But the main show stoppers were the fabulous designs by Guyanese born Sonia Noel of Mariska’s Designs.

Noel left the audience speechless as she presented her black and white; earth tones and baby blue coloured garments that hugged the figures of the models.

Noel’s pieces certainly lived up to her slogan to have “Exclusive designs with an upbeat Caribbean Flavour”.

The Mijé Modeling Agency’s Carnival Catwalk also featured guest performances by singer Purist Virgin, dancers Norlan Jackson and Jezz-Lee Wood while Body Builder Efford Rogers showed he is still a champion.
