Latin night at Iguana
On Thursday nights at the Iguana Cultural Centre expect to dance to Latin music until you sweat, this assurance comes from dance instructor Richard âDJ Frenzyâ Beadle.
Beadle, who is one of the members of a growing Latin Music Dance group that has been gathering at the nightclub for over four months, is inviting persons who want to enjoy dance with a difference.{{more}}
He noted that a dance workshop for beginners starts from 6-7pm while the advanced class takes place from 7-8pm. He claims that after learning various steps, the dance floor is transformed into a fiesta where everyone gets down and parties.
Also speaking to Searchlight was another member of the group, Aloma Williams who pointed out that Latin dance is not only the rave in this country but in other neighboring islands. She noted that they are a serious club, which is linking and sharing different techniques with Latin Clubs in Grenada, Barbados and St.Lucia.
Williams also noted that Latin clubs also help the Spanish speaking residents living here to feel at home while students who have studied in these territories get a chance to meet and reminisce on the Spanish culture.
Her only disappointment was that there were fewer males attending the Latin Dance night and she urged the guys to see Latin dance as a way to get romantic with their ladies.
Ambassadors Olga Chamero Trias from Cuba and Ambassador Tibisay Urdaneta from Venezuela were among the dignitaries who attended the official launch which was held on Thursday June 8.
