Carnival hits Sandy Bay

Your carnival programme this year could have an additional flavour. Along with the traditional Rural festivals, you could go to Sandy Bay and enjoy a build up to Vincy Mas 2006.

Activities continue tomorrow Saturday, June 10 with a Princess Pageant at the Old Sandy Bay School.{{more}}

Moleene Nanton, Anelia Roberts, Camesha Baptiste, Akeisha Laborde, Katesha Hoyte, Evisha May, Desann Roberts, and Renell Lavia will vie for the Miss Princess Pageant.

That will be a forerunner to the Queen Pageant carded for Friday June 16 at the same venue.

Those delegates will be: Keisha Laborde, sponsored by Bradley and Clarke Driving School, Tannesha Baptiste supported by Derrick’s Construction, Jovanie Peters: Country Gardens, Annetta Brackin: Russian’s Rental, and Ornella Child: Clarke Construction.

A J’Ouvert activity follows and an evening street jump-up is carded for Saturday.

The Queen Pageant will be spiced with music from Lunatics Band from Fancy featuring Tadjoe, Bum-E, Secondary School calypso monarch ‘Little Jade,’ and former Primary School Calypso monarch Man Resistance.
