Miss SVG comes off tomorrow night

All seven young ladies in the Miss SVG Pageant have been urged to go for the Crown tomorrow tonight!

This encouragement comes from Chairperson of the Beauty Shows committee Cheryl Rodriquez as she spoke at a press conference on Tuesday May 30 at the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) headquarters.{{more}}

Rodriquez admitted that she was deeply impressed with the drive and enthusiasm of the contestants and noted that none were just “hanging on” but that they all had their eyes on the prestigious crown and university scholarship.

She said, “The seven girls have their eyes set on the crown, none of them are going to allow themselves to be losers, every girl wants to win this pageant and I have seen that in them, and that is very commendable.”

The visibly emotional Rodriquez was teary eyed as she spoke about the young ladies, and noted that the contestants had outstanding personalities and thanked them for their self-sacrifice.

She bragged that their talents were astounding and appealed to patrons not to miss out on their performances.

Using words from a poem by John Keith, the Beauty Shows Chairperson recited, “I just want to say to my girls, all seven of them from Arianne right down to Karen, you are 10 times bright and fair, your truth divine, you’re keen in beauty and how beautiful you are.”

The Miss SVG show, which is also dubbed, “Super Local” will feature performances by the National Lotteries Authorities Sion Hill Steel Orchestra, Soca artistes Aretha, Shaunelle Mc Kenzie, Skarpyan, Jamsey P and the band Akcess.

The event, which comes off tomorrow Saturday, June 3, will begin at 8 p.m.
