Reigning calypso monarch Glenroy “Sulle” Caesar with “Jiggy Soca” had the crowd attached, and Groovy D, with “Not going tonight,” added to the competition.

Lyndon George, a lawyer by profession, is carving out a career in the musical circles with regular recordings.

His number “Soca Anthem” was well received.

The combination of Rohan “Mint” Martin and Chaka Hazelwood did the rendition “My Love,” and kept the audience in a different grove.

Aubrey “Shack-I” Dember with “Dah bom bom,” was the other finalist.

Culture Minister Rene Baptiste crowned both calypso and soca winners. The competitions formed part of the opening of Vincy Mas. This year’s slogan is “Super Mas, Super Jamz, Super Mix, Vincy Mas 2006.”
