No Date Change for Vincy Mas

Chairman of the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC), Dennis Ambrose is refuting claims that there has been a date change for Vincy Mas 2006.

Ambrose stated in a press conference on Wednesday, May 3 at the CDC office that for 29 years, Carnival has begun on the last Friday of June. {{more}}

He explained, “This year the last Friday in June is the 30th…it is unfortunate that some calendars proceeded to print their own dates without consulting with the CDC.”

He criticised a particular radio station for claiming that “the CDC doesn’t know what it is doing,” stressing that the date has been clearly set for 29 years.

Ambrose refuted claims that the CDC rejects private promoters and called the accusations scandalous.

The CDC Chairman cleared rumors that the CDC would be stopping and curtailing street bars.

He stated, “This is untrue! It has never been our intention. These bars are a unique feature of Vincy Mas activity. There are regulations for their operations and we expect that every law abiding citizen, and visitors will adhere to these laws of the land.”
