The opening show this Saturday night dubbed “Total Praise” will feature an evening of praise and worship, with worship representing the seven festival zones appearing. There will also be addresses from festival chairman Fidel Taylor, Country Manager of Digicel Martin Bollers and Minister of Culture the Hon. Rene’ Baptiste who will officially declare the festival open. In addition, several pastors from various religious denominations will deliver special messages and prayers for the nation.

With over 300 entries and 1,100 participants in 2005, SVG Gospel Fest has been rapidly growing in importance and gaining international attention. 2006 is expected to be a record year as local artistes use the opportunity to showcase their talents. The National Gospel Committee has responded with a number of innovations including the addition of a sermonette category, a new award for most outstanding original composition and an opportunity for the most outstanding performer to appear in the Barbados Gospel Festival in May.

SVG Gospel Fest is being held under the theme “Let all the People Praise Thee.”
