The ensemble won in the category of Religious Music Ladies Choirs gaining 95 points for their rendition of the test pieces: ‘Hallelu’ and ‘His Blood is on the Rose’.

Cantemus was founded by Mr. Patrick Prescod about fifteen years ago and currently comprises sixteen members with Donna Clarke as Musical Director. Since its inception, the ensemble has competed in the National Music Festivals, winning the title of Best Choir/Ensemble on every occasion. The ensemble has performed throughout St.Vincent and the Grenadines and overseas, offering a repertoire of pop, classical, religious, folk and contemporary music.

Cantemus hopes to return to Trinidad at the end of March for the championship competition where they will vie for the ‘Mary Elizabeth Evans Cup’ which will be awarded to the Best Religious Music Choir.

Cantemus is grateful to Mr. Sean Sutherland, their piano accompanist, Mr. Patrick Prescod, Mr. Victor Prescod in Trinidad and families, friends and well wishers for their continued support and encouragement.
