Students collect awards

Art is attracting the attention of some Vincentian students, and they are getting some rewards.

Millicent Hale, a 16-year-old St. Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua student will have some money when the new school term reopens. That reward came as a result of her participation in a Florida Cruise Association sponsored Foundation for the Caribbean Children’s Environmental Poster Competition. {{more}}

Dale produced an image called ‘Land So Beautiful.’ She received her prize money last Tuesday at the Cruise Ship berth in Kingstown.

Results of the competition were released last June, but Culture and Tourism Minister Rene Baptiste opted to make the presentation last Tuesday.

LaClaire Krystal Robinson, an 11-year old Girls’ High School student was also rewarded for her artistic skills. Her portrait was entitled ‘The Rainbow To Environmental Protection.’ Her father St. Claire Robinson received the prize on his daughter’s behalf.
