Annual female soca clash

Next year, Sexy Sugarz will have to defend the Ladies Soca Monarch title. Regis Splectron, organiser of the event is hoping to make the event a yearly one.

Splectron reflected on the show as “good,” although he anticipated a “slightly larger turn out.” {{more}}

He noted that the idea of the Ladies Soca clash was born three weeks ago. Splectron praised accompanying band Hot Sand whom he said did an “excellent job.”

Splectron sees the show as an “avenue for the ladies to show off their talent.”

He however wants changes next year. It will be on a Saturday. And finalists will do two songs.

He also anticipates that the show will expand to regional proportions in two or three years.

That is not the end of Splectron’s promotions. He is planning a Party Soca Monarch and a Clash of the Bands, dubbed a Carnival Cool Down July 30.
