Five lasses for Miss Teen 2005

Five beauties will be on show at this year’s Miss Teen 2005 Beauty Contest at the Spotlight Stadium, Georgetown on Friday, March 11.

The teens hail from various villages on the windward side of mainland St. Vincent. {{more}}

The five contestants are Miss Owia – Ivoleen Williams, 14, Miss Orange Hill – Sharell Byron, 17, Miss Dickson – Nivisa Ballantyne, 18, Miss Park Hill – Nathalie Young, 18 and Miss Byrea – Reon Roberts, 16.

There will be six appearances by the contestants: Professional Wear, Evening Wear, Swimsuit, Dance, Talent and Interview. There will also be guest appearances by La Moda Models and the Blueprint Dancers.

The show is expected to begin at 8 p.m. and admission is $15.

About the contestants:

• Miss Dickson –

Nivisa Ballantyne:

Nivisa is a former student of the Georgetown Secondary School. She enjoys reading, watching television and interacting with people. Nivisa is entering a pageant for the first time but is confident of taking home the title of Miss Teen 2005.

• Miss Owia –

Ivoleen Williams:

Ivoleen is a student of the Georgetown Secondary School. She placed second in the Miss Independence 2004, at the Spotlight Stadium last October. Ivoleen is hoping to get more exposure and familiarise herself with performing before large audiences. This, she said, would get her stage-ready for any bigger beauty pageants in the future.

• Miss Park Hill – Nathalie Young:

Nathalie is a former student of the Intermediate High School. She is now employed at Corea’s as an office assistant. Nathalie is no stranger to winning as she captured the title of Miss Impact 2004, at the Park Hill Community Centre last November. The Park Hill teen is confident she will also capture Miss Teen Pageant 2005.

• Miss Byera –

Reon Roberts:

Reon is a past student of the Georgetown Primary School and also graduated from the Multipurpose Centre in Georgetown. She is now pursuing O’levels at evening classes. The stage should be a familiar place to Reon, as she is a part of La Moda Modeling Agency and participated in several fashion shows. She enjoys singing, dancing and interacting with people. Reon also wants to use this opportunity to get herself ready for any larger beauty pageants in the future.

• Miss Orange Hill–

Sharell Byron:

Sharell is a student at Georgetown’s Multipurpose Centre. She enjoys singing, dancing and reading in her spare time. Sharell is entering a pageant for the first time, but she is hoping that this show will help build her self-esteem.
