Bequia swings with the Blues

The people of Bequia were treated to a feast of music for all tastes last weekend January 21 – 23 at the 2nd Bequia Music Fest, staged by the Bequia Tourism Association with the support of the Ministry of Tourism. {{more}}

The show kicked off at the Plantation House Hotel with thrilling solo performances from virtuoso pianist Dino Baptiste and blues guitarist Big Joe Louis. Then the legendary blues singer Dana Gillespie and her London Blues Band of Mike Paice, Jake Ziatz, Evan Jenkins, Jeff Walker and Dino Baptiste took to the stage and had the audience dancing and cheering as the music heated up.

Guest performances from The Marques Brothers featuring Big Joe Louis, Jerimiah Marques and pianist Pete Nash, and Chicagoan guitarist Zach Prather led the evening’s show to its climax, when veteran soul singer Luddy Samms took to the stage with the London Blues Band, playing to a packed crowd into the early hours of Saturday morning.
