Fair of the Year awards held

The Image Modeling Agency, adjudged best modelling agency during Splectron’s “Fair of the Year” event, collected their award last Monday at the St.Vincent Brewery in Campden Park.{{more}}

Sabrina Ollivierre collected the prize for Image while other winners were on hand to receive their awards.

Oronde “Bomani” Charles of “Who Am I” soca fame, received the award for best artiste while bassman and vocalist Max Providence of Hottsand collected the Band of the Year title on his band’s behalf.

Brain Campbell of the “Bring Drinks Posse” received the Best Dressed Posse Award for his crew.

Other awards were given to Posse of the Year (Not Nice), Queen of Queens (Seneca Harry), Champion Sound (Exclusive Sounds) and Big Tune of the Year (Icon), these awards were contested for.

Awards chosen through a voting system were Best NightSpot (Iguana), King of Conscious (Abuza), DJ of the Year (Ice Kid), Best New Artiste (Icon), Cheerleaders of the Year (Intermediate High School) and DJ of Yesteryear (Gruv Governor). Splectron was given the Man of the Year and promoter of the Year awards. Competing with him for the Man of the Year spot were Prime Minister Dr.Ralph Gonsalves and Opposition Leader Arnhim Eustace among others!

Promoter Splectron said that the awards were conceptualized so that his outfit could reward artiste that work hard throughout the year to give quality entertainment and may not have been recognised.

“This is so that they could have something to put on their dressing table and say I won this,” said Splectron.

Speaking on behalf of Hairoun beer, sponsors of the event, Sales and Marketing Manager at the St.Vincent Brewery Wayne Murphy said that Fair of the Year is a very important event on the company’s agenda. He added that Hairoun is happy to be associated with the event.
