Splectron hosts ‘fair of the year’

Come tomorrow Saturday, December 4, Vincentians will find out who among other titles holds the local Splectron Promotions Man of the Year title.

The awards will be given during the “Hairoun Beer Fair of De Year” promotion which will be held at Victoria Park. {{more}}

Some of the front runners for the “Man of the Year” title include Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, Opposition Leader Arnhim Eustace, Minister of Transport Works and Housing Julian Francis, radio talk show host Eduardo Lynch and entertainer Gamal “Skinny Fabulous” Doyle.

The evening, which promises to be an entertainment-filled one, will also see nominations for the Best Nightspot, Best DJ of Yesteryear, King of Consciousness, Promoter of the Year, Artiste of the Year and Band of the Year.

The young ladies have not been forgotten as recognition will be given to the Best Modeling Agency with a Queen of the Queens competition to be held alongside a cheerleading competition. The Queen of the Queens includes several ladies who have won various shows during 2004.

A national Dubbing Competition featuring “Skinny Fabulous” and “Sergeant Bread”, and a Soca Fiesta featuring “Icon” and “Botaski” is also on the agenda. The fete also features a teen fair, which begins at 3 p.m. and ends at 7:30. The late fair, designed for the adults, starts at 8 p.m. and features guest artistes such as “Scorpion”, “Mint” and “Abuza” with MC Colin “The Hitman” Graham.
