Ice Kid wins regional clash

Vincentian Silbert DeFreitas, a.k.a. D.J. Ice Kid, used his experience, magical skills and vinyl scratching ability to win the inaugural Heineken Music Green Synergy Caribbean D.J. competition held in Antigua last Saturday.

“I am proud to be the first Heineken D.J. champion and I promise to represent my country to the max and share my skills with music fans in the Caribbean.”

A release from the St. Vincent Brewery said that the Heineken Green Synergy D.J. competition was the climax of a summer-long programme celebrating the diversity of music and D.J. skills.

Vance Garraway, sales representative of St. Vincent Brewery Limited, said, “The Heineken Green Synergy promotion brought together diversity in music resulting in quality, cultural and social vibes that only the Heineken brand can deliver.”

A total of ten D.J.s from other Caribbean islands including Martinique, Guadeloupe, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Grenada, Antigua, St. Kitts, Dominica and French Guyana participated in the competition.
