Kerwin set for school with CJ Daniel’s help

Persons moving to the next stage of their education continue to benefit from sectors of the business community.
The latest recipient is Kerwin Aberdeen of Belmont. He is the winner of the C. J. Daniel Services Inc. Scholarship Award.{{more}}
His mother, Felicia Aberdeen, received the tokens for her son’s scholarship last Monday from C. J. Daniel Services’ Managing Director Curtis Dennie. Kerwin will attend the St. Martin’s Secondary School.
“It is a worthwhile scholarship knowing our financial troubles,” Felicia said as she expressed thanks to C. J. Daniel.
The value of the scholarship is $4,000 for five years; $400 will be for the first term and $200 each for the second term and third terms.
The scholarship was based upon his performance in the recently held Common Entrance Examination where he placed 107th for boys and 268th overall. That was the highest grade of all the applicants. The criteria also stipulated that the winner must be a child or relative of a tray vendor who is a customer of C. J. Daniel Services. Kerwin is Jasmine Samuel’s nephew.
“Education is the launching pad to get you out of poverty,” said Dennie as he presented the award to Kerwin’s mother while the youngster looked on.
Dennie said he was elated because Kerwin will be attending his Alma Mater.
Kerwin promised to make use of the scholarship.
It will take care of uniform, shoes and stationery.
C. J. Daniel Inc., operating for the past six years, provides snacks and plywood at wholesale.
