Christmas Shopping

This coming week, we would once again be celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. We want to STOP here and take this time out to wish each and everyone of you a Merry Christmas and a bright and prosperous 2009! On behalf of the Management and Staff here at Exclusive Kitchens Ltd, we would like to give a special warm Seasons Greetings to all of our Customers for this past year. We love you, guys.{{more}} Thanks for the confidence you’ve put in us, and we would like to also send out a warm greeting to Ms Clare Keizer and the staff of the Searchlight paper for accommodating us this year. Thank you and we love you!

So we are at that point where you’ve dug through magazines, online, stores, and your Bank account is now ready for you. Now it’s time to really go through your budget. It’s nice getting all of your ideas on paper and it’s fun calling around and seeing different kitchen options and ideas, but you must give careful consideration to your finance before your dream kitchen becomes your worst nightmare.

COST

How much does a kitchen really cost? Well, according to the national current estimates, you can pay between $40,000 – $82,000 for a complete kitchen inclusive of countertops and appliances. You may spend less or more, depending on a number of factors. Factors like how big is your kitchen, counter top choices, appliance style, specs and brands. With that figure in mind, ask yourself this question. How long do I intend to keep my home?

Here is the thing. If you are going to be in your home for fewer than 10 years, view this as a way to add resale value to your home. If you are going to spend the rest of your life in that house, plan the kitchen for long term family comfort and your current usablity style.

SPEND WISELY!

This is in no way intended to tell you how to spend your money. The way you spend your money is a matter for you and no one else. When it comes to kitchen, there are so many things you can get for the buck that before you know it, if you don’t watch your spending you would blow your budget. Here are some recommendations. Some kitchen companies would give you a full kitchen package ie: all cabinets, countertops and appliances are inclusive also the flooring and painting of the wall. Other contractors would only price for cabinets etc and the variables go on from there. However, if you have to pick out a lot of the items yourself, we find that a lot of people go overboad with spending. You tend to have a better grasp on your finance if you have a complete estimate for the entire cost so that you can put that money aside.

Look at cost saving measures and spend wisely. Don’t get too detailed with high end buys if your budget is on the lower end. Speak with us for more advice on savings ideas so that you can make your kitchen a reality without it making you breaking the bank.

PLAN FOR THE UNEXPECTED

When you are working with a tight budget, it’s always hard to find a little room for the unexpected occurrence. But lets talk about some of the unexpected things that can happen, especially when doing a remodelling kitchen project. Unforeseen damage to the walls when cabinets are removed, broken plumbing when removing cabinets, switches that end up being in the wrong place now for the new kitchens that would now have to be relocated. Damaged tiles (you didn’t plan on replacing) and you can think of some of the problems from there. Plan for these things just in case they happen. Your plan A should be in play while your plan B is waiting on the side lines to jump in just in-case!
