Bring drinks

The Christmas season has started (in my book), so you know what that means… parties and gatherings galore and everyone has to bring good eats and drinks. For those who don’t already know how to make the drinks below, this is a good time to give them a try.

Guinness Punch

You will need:

12 oz Guinness

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup condensed milk

1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

1/8 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

Whipped cream to garnish (optional)

Method:

Place Guinness, milk, sweetened condensed milk, cinnamon and nutmeg in a blender and whip to combine. Serve cold. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and freshly grated nutmeg.

Tip – Some persons add an egg to the mix; feel free to do so, if you wish.

Ponche De Creme

You will need:

9 eggs

5 tins condensed milk

1 bottle white rum (75 ml)

Rind of 1 green lime

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon grated nutmeg

Angostura bitters

Hot water

Method:

Pour half cup of hot water on peel of lime and set aside. Beat eggs until fluffy. Add milk, rum, and liquid from lime peel. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, and bitters. Blend well. Pour into clean bottles for storage. Best served over crushed ice.

Tip – Cut recipe in half if you don’t want to make that much.
