Fisherman arrested on drug related charges

Police have arrested and jointly charged Bastian Dember, 29-year-old fisherman of Union Island and Andris Jordan, a 30-year-old fisherman of Fitz Hughes with the offences of possession of a controlled drug and drug trafficking respectively on May 23, 2020.

According to investigations, the accused men had in their possession 18,160 grammes of cannabis with intent to supply it to another and for the purpose of drug trafficking. The incident occurred at Bequia on May 22, 2020.

Both men are expected to appear before the Serious Offences Court to answer the charges.
