Gunn Hill man charged with murder

A 56-year-old of Gunn Hill has been charged for the Friday night murder of 40-year-old Kenroy “Piggy” Roberts.

Harold Roberts, who is not related to the deceased, was charged at the Serious Offences Court yesterday with, with malice aforethought, causing the death of Kenroy Roberts of Great House, Campden Park by an unlawful act.

Kenroy, who is said to have been stabbed, died after 9pm a few feet away from his home at Great House, Campden Park on September 27.

Harold, sporting bandages to one of his hands and arms and his head, was not required to plea to the charge as this point in time as it is laid indictably.

The investigator indicated to Senior Prosecutor Adolphus Delplesche, who indicated to Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne, that there are 12 witnesses and the case should be ready for preliminary inquiry by the end of November.

The tentative date set for the inquiry into the evidence surrounding the charge is January 6, 2020.
