Cottage road in Fancy opened ahead of Heroes Day
The Cottage road in the village of Fancy was officially opened on Tuesday, on the eve of National Heroesâ Day, celebrated in honour of Paramount Carib Chief Joseph Chatoyer.
The Cottage road was completed with the support of the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF), in collaboration with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines, at a cost of $1,300,000.
The feature address was delivered by Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, with other addresses coming from area representative Montgomery Daniel and Dunstan Johnson of BNTF.
Cameron Balcombe of Bally & Bally Investment Ltd was the contractor.
Fancy is located to the north east of St Vincent and most of its residents can boast of Garifuna or Kallinago ancestry.
