TWO MEN SHOT

Kareem Charles and Junior “Macho” Bibby are recovering at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), after being shot on Saturday night.

Both men are Redemption Sharpes residents and were wounded in their home village sometime after 7 p.m., when gunshots shattered the silence in the residential community.

On Monday, both men told SEARCHLIGHT that they had no idea who shot them. They declined an interview, but consented to having their photos taken.

Charles was shot on his left cheek while one of the bullets broke his left arm. Bibby received a bullet in his right thigh that travelled down his leg and shattered the bone in his shin area in three separate places.

Both men are in stable condition, with Bibby expected to undergo surgery on Thursday to repair the damage to his leg.

On Christmas Day 2007, Bibby’s father, Lloyd “Lazo” Samuel, also known as Lazarus, died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), after being shot in Redemption Sharpes on December 21 that year. Samuel was shot while reversing his vehicle at his home around 1:15 a.m. Two other Redemption Sharpes men, Che ‘Ragga’ Bute and Azarri ‘Nines’ Ash, are currently serving life sentences for Samuel’s murder.

However, the sentence has been appealed and since then the main witness in the case, Uroy “Laybay” Robertson, was murdered. Robertson was shot in the head at Walvaroo, Sion Hill, on September 2, 2012.(LC)
