La Croix man killed during domestic dispute

One La Croix man lost his life at the hands of his wife on Tuesday, in what police say was a domestic dispute.

The police report that Henry Jackson, 67, was stabbed by his wife, Hermina Jackson, 49, sometime after 11 p.m. at their home.

Jackson, who was a retired driver from the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA), was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Evesham Health Centre.

When SEARCHLIGHT visited the family home on Wednesday, three of his daughters expressed shock at the thought that their father was dead.

“When I heard that this morning…up to now, I can’t cry. I keep asking if daddy really dead,” one daughter said.

Although they did not wish to speak to the media at the time, the women told SEARCHLIGHT that the incident was witnessed by the couple’s eight-year-old son.

One daughter, who is one of three children with his wife, Hermina, said that her father was a quiet person who did not like getting into arguments.

Hermina, who married Jackson almost 10 years ago, is helping police with investigations.(BK)
