Businessman stabbed in the back
Denika “Shortyâ Samuel was rushed to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) on Tuesday, after being shot at the West Side Bar in Rose Place, at around 11:23 p.m.
On arrival at the MCMH, Samuel, who is said to have been in critical condition, was sent to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where she was awaiting surgery, when this article was written.
Reports are that Samuel, who turns 22 on Wednesday, June 21, was involved in an altercation, in which a businessman from Kingstown Hill was stabbed in his back. The businessman is said to be the holder of a licensed firearm.
Information received is that Samuel was shot in the neck inside the bar,after the stabbing took place.
The businessman was detained in connection with the shooting and is currently assisting police with their investigations.
