Cops to formally lay death charge against Jarvis today
Lawrence was shot six times at around 7 a.m. at Arnos Vale. The Bank of St Vincent and the Grenadines (BOSVG) employee was found with gunshot wounds about his body and later died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH).
On Wednesday, the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force Public Relations and Complaints Department released the results of Lawrenceâs post mortem examination. According to the report, Lawrence died as a result of exsanguination (severe loss of blood) and multiple gunshot injuries.
About 3.30 p.m. on Wednesday, shortly before the post mortem results were made public, Jarvis, in handcuffs, and his lawyer, Israel Bruce, were taken to the area
in Arnos Vale where last weekâs shooting took place. The two were in the presence of police investigators and were being guarded by several police officers carrying automatic weapons.
The group spent several minutes walking around the crime scene and a police source told SEARCHLIGHT that Jarvis was taken there to map out the events of February 14. According to the source, an electronic interview should have been conducted with Jarvis yesterday, Thursday.
On February 16, Jarvis appeared before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias at the Serious Offences Court at Lower Kingstown Park, charged in relation to a disturbance at the residence of Josette Smith in Arnos Vale on the same day Lawrence was killed.
Jarvis, a Redemption Sharpes resident who has five children, was charged that on February 14 at Arnos Vale, with intent to commit the offence of murder on Josette Smith of Arnos Vale, he did an act which is more than merely preparatory to the commission of the offence. He is also charged with entering the dwelling house of Josette Smith of Arnos Vale, as a trespasser with an offensive weapon, to wit a gun. Jarvis was the holder of a licensed 9 mm firearm at the time of the incidents.
