Asian businessman shot twice by assailant in Long Wall area

An Asian businessman was shot twice on Friday night, while making his way to his Cane Garden home.

Ken Cho and his wife, the owners and operators of three restaurants and a wholesale business in capital city Kingstown, were driving in a darkened area of Long Wall on the outskirts of Kingstown, when a rock was thrown in front their vehicle.

Cho, who was driving, slammed on his brakes and his wife was thrown forward, her face striking the windscreen of the vehicle.{{more}}

After stopping, an armed assailant shot the restaurateur twice, once in his upper right arm and once in his left thigh, apparently with the intention of robbing the couple.

Cho discharged his licensed firearm and his attacker fled. After trying unsuccessfully to summon passing motorists for help, Cho drove himself and his wife to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH), where they were treated and later discharged.

Police are investigating.
