Father needs help for son’s treatment in Barbados

A father of two, from Kingstown Park, is seeking the help of the general public to save his son’s life.

Clifford Soleyn says that his son, Raffique Williams, has been diagnosed with lymphoma and needs treatment in Barbados at the Caribbean Transfusion and Haematology Inc.{{more}}

Soleyn explained that his son was treated and the cancer seemed to be in remission, but Raffique is now extremely sick again and needs help, and the family cannot afford the entire treatment.

“Raffique is a good boy and we would be grateful for any assistance we can get to help save his life,” said Soleyn on Wednesday, adding that even though lymphoma is cancer, it is very treatable and in many cases can be cured with the right treatment.

Lymphoma is cancer that begins in infection-fighting cells of the immune system called lymphocytes. These cells are in the lymph nodes, spleen , thymus, bone marrow, and other parts of the body. When you have lymphoma, lymphocytes change and grow out of control.
