Buccament Government take over primary schools’ athletics title

The Buccament Government School outran all contenders to emerge as champs of the 2016 National Lotteries Authority Inter-Primary Schools Athletics Championships last Wednesday at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.

With a combined total of 296 points, Buccament left the pre-event favourites, {{more}}the Layou Government, to settle for the second place. Layou tallied 241 points, edging out the dethroned champions, the Kingstown Preparatory, by one point.

It was also the Buccament Government’s Ulanda Lewis who claimed the Victrix Ludorum award, as she produced 46 points to also head up the 11 and Over girls’ division.

Copping the Victor Ludorum title was the Kingstown Prep School’s Kareem Davis, with his 25 points.

Davis was the top performer in the male Under-11 age group.

Taking the male Under-7 top performer award was Ethan De Freitas of the Park Hill Government, with Nyana Fisher of the Diamond Government – the female recipient of that age group.

Out front in the male Under-9 was Stubbs Primary’s Joshua Harry, with Sion Hill Government’s Keshawna Alexander – the female champion.

Oné Williams of the champion school, the Buccament Government, bossed the female Under-11 and Jolani Barker – the male 11 and Over.(RT)
