Another police officer charged

Another police officer has been charged with a criminal offence, upping the number of officers to appear before the Serious Offenses Court this week to two.

On Wednesday, PC Elron Lewis, a 26-year-old resident of Troumaca, was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to three counts {{more}}of deception.

According to police, Lewis, who is on suspension relating to a previous matter currently before the court, was arrested on Monday and charged on Tuesday.

Police, however, refused to release any further information in relation to his case.

Lewis will to reappear before Chief Magistrate Rechanne Browne-Matthias on March 16, 2016.

On Monday, March 7, hearing began at the Serious Offences Court in the matter in which PC Mayon Spring has been charged with corruptly obtaining 25 rounds of 5.56 ammunition between November 27 and 29 at Calliaqua. The ammunition, valued at $26.50, is the property of the Government of St Vincent and the Grenadines.(AS)
