William Caruth, a 61-year-old man, has been charged with the murder of his pregnant daughter Andrea Caruth.

The Caruths are said to be originally from St Vincent and the Grenadines but reside in the United States.

Reports are that Andrea, who lived in Baychester, Bronx, was found dead after being missing for three days. {{more}}Online reports claim that her body was removed from the basement of her Baychester home on Corsea Avenue around 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The body was discovered in a crawl space of the basement apartment, where Andrea’s father lived. It appeared to have been there for several days.

One of Caruth’s friends said that the pregnant woman vanished seemingly into thin air Sunday morning, while another friend Julia McCall, told authorities that Caruth texted her on Sunday and invited her to brunch, but instead, Caruth’s boyfriend reported that she was gone and that she had left nearly all her possessions behind.

Caruth’s mother is Clorene Collis from Peniston.

On Wednesday, after carrying out investigations, police arrested William and allege that he battered and buried his pregnant daughter after a fight over money.

Andrea is said to have been strangled and smashed about the head, suffering skull fractures and brain injuries in the house that she shared with her dad.

The victim’s body, partially buried in gravel, was found by a cadaver-sniffing dog inside the Baychester home about 3 a.m. on Wednesday, police said.

According to police, after killing Andrea, William busted up a concrete floor inside a closet and dumped her body into the crawlspace. He then placed a piece of plywood and a rug over the hole — but his cover-up efforts failed to stop the odour.
