Two young men charged with Union Island murder

Two residents of Asthon, Union Island, have been remanded for the Emancipa­tion Day murder of Allington Caine.

Derrol Small, 26, and Kemroy Craigg, 20, appeared at the Kingstown Magis­trate’s Court on Wednesday, but were not allowed to enter a plea to the indictable charge.{{more}}

The matter was adjourned and transferred to the Serious Offences Court for September 3, 2015, at which time a date for the Preliminary Inquiry will be set.

Caine, a 29-year-old security guard of Union Island, originally from Byera, died after he sustained a puncture wound to his head, following an altercation with three men at Stick Bar, in Clifton, Union Island, at about 5 a.m on August 1.

A post mortem report revealed that Caine died as a result of blunt trauma to the head.

His murder brings to 15, the number of homicides recorded for 2015. (KW)
