Cruz Halbich bosses in open water swim event

Cruz Halbich ended in the top spot in the open water swim events held last Sunday at Villa by the St Vincent and the Grenadines Swimming Association.

Halbich clocked 10 minutes 59.62 seconds to take the 750m race and did 22 minutes 37.06 seconds in the 1,500m.{{more}}

Storm Halbich was second in the 750m race in 11 minutes 51.74 seconds, with Aaron De Freitas third in 12 minutes 08.59 seconds. Placing fourth was Dillon Gooding in a time of 12 minutes 15.56 seconds. Gooding was also third in the 1,500m in 25 minutes 53.84 seconds. Doing better than Gooding in the 1,500m was Tyrel Raguette, who placed second. Raguette, who is from Bequia, returned a time of 24 minutes 09.40 seconds.

The other female who ventured out among a sea of males was Mya De Freitas. She, too, was not outdone, as she was sixth overall in the 750m. Her time over the distance was 14 minutes 56.09 seconds. Twenty-four swimmers participated in the 750 m and 15 in the 1,500m. (RT)
