Young tennis duo in COTEC top 10

The two young Vincentians tennis players, Alexi Humphrey and Anastacia White, who have been making their mark on the regional scene, are in the top 10 of the Confederation of Tennis of Central America and the Caribbean (COTEC) rankings.

In the latest rankings released last week, Humphrey sits in second spot with 185 points {{more}}and White in 10th spot with 180 points, the same as Mexico’s Abril Marquina.

Humphrey and White are among four from the English speaking Caribbean who are in the top 10.

The other places are dominated by players from Central America, namely Guatemala.

Heading up the pack, which contains a total of 123 players, is Gabriela Rivera of Guatemala.

The Vincentian duo are coming off a successful two-week run, as they bossed the Under-14 doubles title in the Scotia Bank Barbados leg of the ITF Caribbean circuit.

Humphrey went on to take the singles title of the bMobile Trinidad and Tobago leg, also an ITF recognized event.

To complete the Vincentians’ prowess, White was the losing finalist to Humphrey.
