Lowmans Leeward resident Ian Gould appeared at the Kingstown Magistrateâs Court yesterday and was charged with causing the death of Pompey by stabbing him about his body with a knife at Morne Ronde mountain on August 12, 2013.
Gould, 35, who appeared battered, with black and blue marks around his eyes and plasters over his ears, was not required to plea to the indictable charge.
Pompeyâs dead body was discovered by a small search party from Troumaca on August 14, after calls to his cellular phone went unanswered on August 12 and 13.
During the search, the party met a man from Lowmans Leeward in the area where Pompey used to be. The man then took them to where Pompeyâs body was in a shallow grave.
Gould was remanded in police custody.
The matter was adjourned to September 2 and transferred to the Serious Offences Court.
