Scheduled to be held at the Petit Bordel hard court, the pageant features six young women contesting for the title that was won by Kenesha Edwards last year.

The six beauties are: Miss Troumaca, 18-year-old Fayasha Lewis, sponsored by Providence Electronics Solution; Miss Chateaubelair, 16-year-old Kayana Stephens, sponsored by Sensaytionz Limited; Miss Petit Bordel, 16-year-old Ocean Edwards, sponsored by Chance Unique Furniture; Miss Rose Bank, 19-year-old Kaywana Laborde, sponsored by Das Entertainment Gold Fever J’Ouvert band; Miss Fitz Hughes,17-year-old Deshia Murray, sponsored by Skittles J’Ouvert band and 19-year-old Shakelia Anthony, Miss Golden Grove, sponsored by Chateaubelair Service Station.

Pageant coordinator Rolamina Matthews, in a news release, made an appeal for persons in the North Leeward constituency to show their support, noting that the event promises to be bigger and better this year.

“I promise they won’t be disappointed,” a confident Matthews said.

Meanwhile, Kenville Horne, public relations officer of the North Leeward Sports Association, the organizers of the Carnival activities in the constituency, also promised a “good show”.

“Entering a pageant is not easy and takes courage.

“These young ladies have dedicated their time and effort to entertain and please the viewing public, so treat them with respect; they are all queens in their own right”.

The contestants will be judged in five categories: Best Interview, Best Talent, Best Evening Wear, Best Swim Suit, and most popular on Facebook.

The event will also feature performances from the energetic Delroy “Fire man” Hooper and former Calypso Monarch Maxwell “Tajoe” Francis.

The North Leeward Carnival activities will conclude on Saturday, June 8 with a J’Ouvert and an evening jump-up, featuring J’Ouvert band “Gold Fever”.
