Still unsure as to why he was stabbed by his neighbour, Mesopotamia resident, Sandford Gurley says he is only âgladâ to have survived the ordeal.{{more}}
Hooked up to an intravenous drip, and showing signs of being in pain, Gurley remains a patient at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital (MCMH) after he received stab wounds to his lower abdomen and on his left hand.
According to Gurley, he was stabbed Sunday night by a female neighbour.
âI still donât know why she try cut out my belly,â the injured man told SEARCHLIGHT on Monday.
In his mid-thirties, the Mesopotamia man said he feels bad about what happened, because he hardly communicates with his neighbour.
âI just feel bad and I ainât know what else to say.â
He told SEARCHLIGHT that he is not a troublesome person and though not employed regularly, he seeks day to day jobs as a farmer.
âI plant like vegetables and so on and I donât trouble people like that and I still donât know why she stab me. Must be because I was in her yard, I donât know,â he added.
However a resident of the area told SEARCHLIGHT that Gurley was attacked while he tried to enter a window of the womanâs house.
Up to press time, no arrest had been made in relation to the incident, but reports confirm that one person is assisting police with the matter. (AA)
