Vincyfresh brings new range of products to market

Local agro processing company Vincyfresh added four new products to its existing range of items on Wednesday, March 7.{{more}}

The new products are White Vinegar, Sorrel Cordial, Ginger and Garlic marinade and herb and Pepper Marinade.

Kemstom Cato, Food Technologist said that the new products represented at least one year’s investment.

“We try to create products that cater to your taste,” he said.

“At the end of the day you are the one using the products,” Cato continued, saying that the future looked exciting for locally produced, agro-processed goods.

“To my mind that is the direction we need to go because a lot of the other countries that have progressed have done so by moving from a primary base for agriculture to an agro-processing base,” Cato explained.

This allows for many benefits, and according to the food technologist, Vincy Fresh was in a position to turn things around for the agricultural sector.

And to launch the new products, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Anthony Regisford explained that they intend to lift their game with regard to the marketing of the products.

“We have been a little quiet and there was a reason for that,” he said.

According to Regisford, the intention was for the company, which began operations back in 2007, to develop its product portfolio before going to the public.

“We feel we are at that level now,” he said.

And the official campaign kicks off today, with the ‘Heroes Month’ sale and members of the public will have the opportunity to purchase the products from Vincy Fresh at discounted prices.

Discounts, according to Regisford, range from 10 to 35 per cent off.

Vincy Fresh will be partnering with Corea’s Hazell’s Inc and from 9:00 this morning, persons can go to the Corea’s Food Express and either sample or purchase the items on display.

“This is in an effort to get the product out in the hands of people,” he explained.

The product line has been endorsed by Soca Powerhouse Gamal ‘Skinny Fabulouos’ Doyle who said that while St Vincent and the Grenadines has been known for its music, this was the opportunity for it to be represented in another way.

“I’m a proud member of the Vincy Fresh family,” Doyle declared.

“I am just here to endorse my country,” he continued.

Vincy Fresh uses all locally produced ingredients and the intention is to engage the farmers.

According to the CEO, the company was already in the process of working with the Ministry of Agriculture to help in this regard.

“We want to have a situation where the farmers are on contracts to grow specific types of produce to get them in the required volumes,” Regisford explained. (DD)
